We met the modern way, on Facebook Dating, but it didn't take long to realize this was something special.
Our first date was at Chuy's, and while the food was great, what mattered most was that neither of us wanted the day to end. So Brian did what any reasonable person would do, he asked Elizabeth if she wanted to go to Lowe's to buy drill bits. One errand turned into another, and somehow we also ended up at the mall, purely so we could keep hanging out a little longer.
On the drive back, Brian asked to see Elizabeth's nails. Not for fashion advice, but because he wanted to hold her hand while walking around the mall and didn't quite know how to ask. Smooth move. It worked.
Elizabeth still remembers watching Brian walk into Chuy's that night, fixing his collar, completely unaware that she was already smiling at him. And then there was the moment she learned Brian had a pet pig named Bruno. Brian is convinced this is the exact moment Elizabeth decided she was all in and honestly, he's probably right.
What followed were lots of long drives back and forth to see each other. Back then, the miles felt endless. Now, they feel like nothing compared to the life we've built together out in the beautiful country. These days, home is a peaceful little hobby farm filled with love, laughter, a dog or five and just the right amount of chaos.
Along with falling in love with Brian, Elizabeth gained two wonderful children, Devin and Madison, who quickly accepted her as family. They changed her world for the better and turned out to be the missing piece she didn't know she needed. Together, they've created a family that feels complete in the very best way.
It's a simple life, full of meaning and joy and we wouldn't change it for the world.
